Ashurst recognised in the 2018 Legal 500 Asia Pacific rankings

The 2018 Legal 500 Asia Pacific results have commended Ashurst’s Asia Pacific offices, with the firm receiving 20 Tier 1 rankings across its Asia Pacific practice groups and 47 top rankings for individual team members.

The Legal 500 is published annually and provides unbiased commentary and insight in the marketplaces of 18 Asia Pacific jurisdictions.
The Australian practice received 21 rankings in total, including 16 Tier 1 rankings and one new ranking; the China offices’ achieved four rankings; the Hong Kong office achieved nine rankings; the Indonesian office achieved six rankings, including one Tier 1 ranking; the Japan office achieved five rankings; and the Singapore office achieved seven rankings, including three Tier 1 rankings. The firm also achieved one ranking in India; one new ranking in Malaysia; one ranking in Myanmar; one ranking in the Philippines and two rankings in South Korea.
The firm also succeeded in attaining 47 of the top rankings for legal professionals, including having 30 professionals ranked as Leading Individuals and 16 individuals ranked as Next Generation Lawyers.
Ashurst regional head Australia Phil Breden comments: “The 2018 rankings are excellent recognition of the Australian offices’ achievements and are evidence of the dedication and expertise of our legal talent. It is particularly pleasing to see our commitment to clients identified through the high level of Tier 1 rankings, which place the firm at the top level of the Australian legal market.”

The Legal 500 ranks the capabilities of law firms in over 100 jurisdictions across the world. The rankings are determined by extensive market research which is based on the firm’s clients being independently contacted for feedback. The results highlight the leading practice area teams that provide the most quality and innovative advice to corporate counsel in the region.
