Russell Kennedy Lawyers has appointed Rory Maguire as Special Counsel, specialising in M&A and corporate transactions.

Russell Kennedy welcomed Rory to the firm on November 6.  He was recruited to increase our M&A and capital raising capability for both listed and private companies.

Rory has more than 11 years’ experience and brings with him a strong reputation amongst his peers and clients.

He is an experienced M&A and corporate lawyer whose work has included public takeovers and schemes of arrangement, negotiated acquisitions and divestments, shareholder and joint venture arrangements, corporate fundraising and restructures, regulatory and governance matters and general corporate/commercial law.

Rory has worked for a range of ASX listed companies, private companies, government departments and agencies, as well as multi-national corporations.

Prior to joining Russell Kennedy, Rory spent more than 11 years in the M&A team at Herbert Smith Freehills in Melbourne, having also worked in the New York office of Sullivan & Cromwell and has completed client secondments with the National Australia Bank and the Victorian State Government.

His appointment further strengthens our M&A and corporate advisory offering and commitment to delivering the best outcomes for our clients.
